Lanka is a Sinhala font family designed for print publications featuring four functional weights. It blends the classical design with the organic forms of the script, preserving authenticity. The unique features of the typeface allow it to be a distinct display when used at large sizes, and an efficient text typeface within the smaller range. Well resolved joineries, carefully crafted curves and maintained contrast are the key aspects. The typeface also features knots at certain joints to emphasize on the writing traditions of this script. Designed under the guidance of Satya Rajpurohit, the font family will be published by the Indian Type foundry later this year.
